LOCATION OPTIONS FOR PHOTO SESSIONS

Being a photographer and a Miami Florida native, I cannot help but to love so many beautiful locations specially to photograph in. Part of our planning process for photo sessions is picking the perfect place to shoot in. Please keep in mind that some locations require fees while others do not. (Location fees that establishments require are not part of or included in the photo session fee.)  

On this page you’ll find some of my favorite locations, with information to help plan out your session.   

VIZCAYA Museum & Gardens

Vizcaya’s enchanting gardens, vine-covered gazebos, water-front terraces, and impressive architecture offers a memorable and intimate backdrop for photography. Vizcaya allows photo permits Wednesday through Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Vizcaya is closed on Tuesdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Shooting fees are, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: $250.  Saturdays and Sundays: $350. Located in the north Coconut Grove area of the City of Miami, overlooking Biscayne Bay.

Ancient Spanish Monastery

Like Vizcaya, and other museums, this is defined by special clothing and posing for First Communion, Quince,  Sweet 16, prom, senior pictures, bridal, engagement, and maternity sessions. There is a private air-conditioned dressing room. There is a $300 portrait fee for a three-hour photo session. The portrait fee is for one or two people only. For example:  a bride and groom, an engaged couple, or two children for First Communion. Business hours are Mon-Sat 10 am until 4:30 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am until 4:30 pm. Located in North Miami Beach.

The Secret Garden

The Secret Gardens is the perfect setting for photo shoots of all kinds. Lush vegetation, waterfalls and ponds with colorful fish. A photography session is a three-hour reservation that includes access to the entire property, a private air-conditioned dressing room, and sitting areas for your guests. There is a $255.00 ($75.00 for each additional hour). Located in the heart of the Redlands agricultural area of Miami.

Deering Estate

The Deering Estate opened in 1900 and preserves the 1920s era Miami estate of Charles Deering. It is right by the bay. There is a permit fee is $100 plus 7% sales tax and provides admission for up to 4 people, including the photographer.​ Located South off of Old Cutler Road.

Gold Coast Railroad Museum

The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is dedicated to preserving, exhibiting, and operating historic equipment. Rates include use of props (luggage), interior and exterior of railcars, and track if train is not operating. Monday - Friday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM $75.00 per hr + tax Before 10:00 AM or after 4:00 PM $100.00 per hr + tax Saturday + Sunday 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM $100.00 per hr + tax Before 11:00 AM or after 4:00 PM $200.00 per hr +tax After 7:00 PM - Zoo Security $50.00 per hr after 7:00 PM. Villa Maria Cristina

Villa Maria Cristina is one Miami’s newest hidden gems for photo sessions. Rain or shine this beautiful mansion is a great choice! Perfect for engagement, maternity, Quince, Sweet 16, and family sessions. All amenities included, inside and outside. Stables, barn, gazebo, bridge, mansion interior, mansion exterior, bed, pool, courtyard. There is a two-hour minimum for reserving this location. Two: $250 Three hours: $300. Highly recommend this location. Located in Miramar.

Pinecrest Gardens

Pinecrest Gardens is a lush paradise featuring both exotic and native tropical plants, sinuous rock formations, and winding water features. It truly lives up to its reputation as a hidden treasure and urban oasis. The garden contains three acres of tropical hardwood hammock and two acres of native cypress slough. (Bridal, Quince, Engagement, First Communion, Family ETC.) cost $100 plus tax. Fee admits a total of seven (7) people including the photographer. Located of off Old Cutler Rd.

Matheson Hammock Park

Matheson Hammock Park is a scenic park featuring a man-made atoll pool, which is flushed naturally with the tidal action of adjacent Biscayne Bay. It is a beautiful location for all kind of sessions including large groups. If you’re looking to shoot on the beach side, car entrance is $5 on weekdays and $7 on weekends and holidays. Park hours 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Located off of Old Cutler Rd.

South Pointe Park

South Pointe Park is a park on Miami Beach with access to the beach, and much more. One of the highlights of South Pointe, besides the spectacular beach, is the walking promenade that runs along the channel which is the major thoroughfare for watercraft entering and leaving the Port of Miami and marinas.  Area opened 7:30 AM – 6 PM. Located on 1 Washington Ave, Miami Beach.

Wynwood

Wynwood has become the arts hub of South Florida. It started with murals, street art, and graffiti - encouraged, unconventionally, by the neighborhood's early developers, spawning vibrant spaces teeming with outdoor art. If you’re looking to have some artist fun added in your session this always a cool option. Located north of Downtown Miami and Overtown, and adjacent to Edgewater.

Personal in-home sessions are a great option. Especially for newborns, babies, and families. It is also a great option for small families with their pets in their natural settings.
